ANN HANSON
Ann Hanson grew up in rural Wyoming and still enjoys the country lifestyle. She enjoys a panoramic view of the Big Horn Mountains from her studio outside of Shell, Wyoming. Hanson paints with oils and pastels and is noted for her very realistic and highly detailed paintings. She paints her friends and neighbors doing what they do every day. “I love capturing the subtleties of day to day life. I like to think of my paintings as a moment in time.”
“I knew from the earliest time I can remember that I wanted to be an artist. I would do my work in school and then 'doodle' in every available space on the papers. I did graphic illustrations for our high school class yearbook. I then attended two years as a graphic major at Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming. I learned a lot from my design and drawing classes, but am mostly self-taught as a painter.”
