Artist Biography
Gillean Dangelmayr has been documenting the Western lifestyle since 2018, with a focus on ranching, horsemanship, and the people who continue these traditions. Through both documentary and fine art imagery, she seeks to create photographs that feel timeless while remaining honest to the modern West.
A lifelong horsewoman, and mother of two daughters being raised on a ranch in Muenster, Texas, Gillean photographs a world she knows personally. Her connection to ranching and agriculture shapes both the subjects she chooses and the way she approaches them.
Her current body of work, 'The Living West', documents ranch life across Texas with the goal of preserving a way of life that continues to evolve. Her work has been featured by Western Galleries in Fredericksburg, Texas, as part of their 'First Friday Art Online' series.
