Artist Biography
Based in North Texas, jewelry artist and metalsmith Sherri Lane creates wearable pieces of art, vessels and small sculptures. Raised in the Texas hill country, weekends were spent camping, tubing and boating on the local lakes and rivers with family and friends. Deeply influenced by the quiet stillness of a lake or the rushing water of a river are evident as her work combines bold organic forms with rich textures, often adding water-cast elements to create one-of-a-kinds pieces.
She has developed her metal fabrication skills and techniques by working with national instructors of different styles, which always bring a new perspective to her designs. Her designs invite the wearer to integrate these jewelry pieces into their own personal journey.
When she is not designing and fabricating in her studio, she can be found at the family ranch in Clay County, usually harvesting seasonal wild fruits.
