Founded by Donna Howell-Sickles and husband, John Sickles, in April of 2010, Davis & Blevins Gallery is a unique fine art gallery in Saint Jo, Texas. Located 1.5 hours North of Dallas/Fort Worth, and nestled in the picturesque Red River Valley, Saint Jo is positioned on the historic Chisholm Trail - now better known as Highway 82. The Gallery offers atmosphere, artwork, and exquisite gift items steeped in the rich heritage of the American West.

 

Donna and John moved to Saint Jo in 2000, and spent the next decade researching Saint Jo history and renovating the historic Davis & Blevins building that now houses their fine art gallery and gift shop. By combining their talents in design, remodeling, and architecture the couple has created an enchanting oasis on the historic town square where one can step inside and be transported past the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The repertoire of artists include celebrated figures from across the United States, with styles ranging from contemporary sculpture, to woodblock prints, to plein-air landscapes, to traditional western oil paintings.

 

In 2014, the Sickles turned their focus on restoring the Frie building; a beautiful double storefront that has had many incarnations throughout it's long history. The Davis & Blevins Gallery expanded into the Frie, filling its walls and corners with enchanting artwork, sculpture, hand-crafted furniture, and delicate jewelry. But honestly, the building itself is the most breathtaking work of art. So much so in fact, that John and Donna's hard work yielded the Historical Restoration Award from Preservation Texas, and a feature article in Western Art & Architecture's June/July 2014 issue.

 

In addition to the wonders of the Gallery, the gift shop brings a taste of Santa Fe and Jackson Hole right to North Texas; it's a spectacular treasure that is sure to dazzle even the most discerning shopper.
